Deepika, Kareena, Katrina: Fashion hits and misses of the week (November 13 – November 19)

Let's rewind and take a look at the best and worst dressed Bollywood celebs of the week.

Hit: At the Glamour Women of The Year Awards 2016, Freida Pinto brought her A-game in a slinky Reem Acra dress from the Fall 2016 collection. Styled by celebrity stylist Tanya Ghavri, the look was bound to be a sureshot hit – who can resist sexy lace, sequins and a red pout put together, right? Her hair game was strong too with celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton giving her natural waves towards the end – more on the retro side, while Kirin Bhatty went ahead with a perfect winged liner and marsala lips. We have no complains at all, she couldn’t have done better! (Source: Instagram/Tanya Ghavri)

Miss: It's hard to imagine that the lady who has been rocking maternity wear like no other can have an off day, but we guess it's okay. Kareena Kapoor Khan added her name to the list of reds this evening, opting for a Gauri and Nainika dress. What worked for her was the colour; what didn't? Everything else. From the broad neck to that horrific zipper line at the back, there was little in that dress that one can appreciate. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Hit and miss: Alia Bhatt has often experimented with her ensembles, going from knee-length frocks to the stunning lace jumpsuit by Cynthia Rowley she sported earlier this month. Well, adding to her wide-range of black wardrobe essentials is this lovely black playsuit by Lavish Alice, which she wore to the launch of the November 2016 issue of the fashion magazine Filmfare. Styled by celebrity stylist Ami Patel – who has often wowed us with her magic – Bhatt looked stunning in this one-shoulder ensemble with a unique tuxedo-inspired lapel and panel in the front. She complemented the playsuit with a pair of strappy black heels, carrying off the attire really well. But what we cannot get over is that complete botch-up of a make-up job that makes her look orange! (And in post-Donald Trump winning the US elections era, looking orange cannot be considered a compliment.)

Hit: Tamannaah Bhatia chose the colour of the ball, red and really worked it. The Gauri and Nainika mini with ruffles at the bust and a high-low train gave the actress an oomph, and we love that black belt cinched at the waist that not only gives a visual relief, but a touch of rock-star attitude as well. The choice of a pair of nude Louboutin pumps added to the length of her already long legs. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Hit: There are very few times that Malaika Arora doesn't live up to her fashionista branding, and this was not one of those times. Looking sensual in this glittery sequinned gown by Monisha Jaising, Arora's soft cascading curls and strappy metallic sandals completed the look. If there was one thing that stood out as a sore point, that's the black choker. She should seriously have ditched that. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Hit: Aditi Rao Hyadri shows us how simplicity works well. Wearing a pastel Gaurav Gupta gown, Hyadri looked like a fairy keeping her hair slightly wispy and make-up simple, with that pop of deep pink to elevate the look. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Hit and miss: Anushka Sharma wore a very gypsy-inspired ensemble by Shehlaa. While we loved the black lacy top, that skirt with a mid-thigh slit was a downer. She paired the separates with matching ankle-strap sandals and jewellery from Nirav Modi, both of which were excellent choices. Again, it's the skirt that's just not working. deepika padukone, deepika padukone looks, deepika padukone birthday, deepika padukone fashion, deepika best looks, deepika padukone fashion looks, happy birthday deepika padukone, deepika padukone style, deepika padukone pics,

Deepika Padukone and her thigh-high slits very rarely go wrong, and if it's a Ralph & Russo gown, then there's no way one can really do. The grey gown looked stunning, and so did its wearer. Padukone opted to complete the look with sleek centre-parted hair, and a pair of strappy metallic sandals. Perfect! (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Miss: Ileana D'Cruz chose a printed dress by Aiisha Ramadan for the event, and though we love the psychedelic water-clolour splash print, in this case, it just looked way too much. That nude illusion panel just messed up the neckline and we do think that's a tad bit too much of blush. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Hit: Jacqueline Fernandez was a stunner in this beaded Paulo Sebastian gown. We loved the hairdo and though the cheekbones looked a little highlighted, it worked for her. But that dress!!! (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Hit: Katrina Kaif in her gorgeous Ziad Nakad gown was a vision to behold. The shimmering sheer green gown stood out amid the plethora of red, and we love how Kaif wore the whole look. She kept her make-up a bit toned down, and let that stunning dress do the talking. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Hit: Evergreen beauty Madhuri Dxit Nene wore a lovely beaded Dolly J black gown with a pair of stunning diamond earrings from Jet Gems. The gown sculpted her body beautifully, and we love that eye make-up! (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Miss: Mohenjo-daro girl Pooja Hegde's choice of this floral number from Andrew Gn's Pre-Fall 2016 collection just does not cut it. The black gown with flourescent green and blue embroidered flowers was a bit too much and completely overpowered her look. The make-up made her look a little washed out, though the red lipstick helped with a bit of pop. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Miss: Sridevi did not impress us in this MJ Couture By Mirna Jawhari gown, which she paired with jewellery from Jet Gems and an Alexander McQueen clutch. We think she went a bit overboard on the foundation, and the colour of the gown did nothing for the beauty. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Miss: Recently, Taapsee Pannu was seen in an off-shoulder Zara Umrigar red gown. Though she looked cute with that one-side pin-up hairdo and those curls, the overall look was fairly bland, and we've come to expect a lot from this damsel, when it comes to style. (Source: Varinder Chawla)
