In first-ever instance, Bharatanatyam will be performed on Polish Folk music by Bharatanatyam exponent Apeksha Niranjan, with Polish folk group-Kapela Odmieńciese.(Source: PR handout)

For the unversed, Bharatanatyam is one of the six classical dance forms in India. It originated in the temples of South India, particularly Tamil Nadu. It used to be performed by Devadasis, thus it was also known as Dasiattam. (Source: PR handout)

The tour kicks off on April 13th with a special performance on the occasion of Tamil New Year- "Chithirai Thiruvizha" organised by the Tamil Sangam Association of Poland. It will close on May 11. (Source: PR handout)
