Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inspects Zojila Tunnel, Asia's longest bi-directional tunnel, to establish all-weather connectivity for Ladakh with the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha.

3 / 7"With the construction of this tunnel, tourism will increase by 2-3 times and employment opportunities will also grow in Jammu and Kashmir," said Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, following inspection of the construction of Zojila Tunnel.
4 / 7A total of 6-km work on the 14.2-km Zojila Tunnel at a height of 11,575 feet above the sea level is underway and according to project managers working on its construction, the tunnel would be completed months ahead of the set deadline of 2026.
