The rain activity spread across locations including Jafarpur, Narayana, Janakpuri and Pusa, with varying intensity of showers

Strong winds were also reported in parts of the city, with Pusa recording wind speeds of up to 48 kmph during the spell

Mahesh Palawat of Skymet told PTI that thunderstorm and light rain activity in parts of Rajasthan has also been influencing the weather in Delhi-NCR

The India Meteorological Department upgraded its alert from yellow to orange, forecasting moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and wind speeds of 40 to 60 kmph during the night

Despite the showers, the city’s air quality remained in the ‘poor’ category, while forecasts indicated partly cloudy skies with chances of further weather activity
