At least 13 people have been confirmed dead while at least 98 passengers have been rescued so far. The incident took place around 4 pm.

Eighty passengers were onboard the ferry which departs for Elephanta caves everyday at 3 pm. The boat’s name is Neelkamal.

Rescue operations are being carried out with the support of the Navy, JNPT, Coast Guard, Yellow Gate police, and local fishing boats, with three teams deployed at the scene. (Express Photo)
