Assam floods: Villages inundated, Kaziranga hit by deluge

85 per cent of the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR) still remains submerged. So far, 125 animals have been rescued and 86 have died, including rhinos, deer and wild boar, in the sixth worst flood since 1988. (PTI)

Goalpara is the worst hit with over 4.53 lakh people suffering, followed by Barpeta with around 3.44 lakh persons and Morigaon with more than 3.41 lakh people. (PTI)

The deluge has affected nearly 25.29 lakh people in 24 of the 33 districts of Assam, according to an official bulletin issued on Sunday. (PTI)
