Currently there are more an more biopics being made in tinseltown. The Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-, Randeep Hooda-starrer Sarbjit was released this Friday (May 20). With one more down, there are many that can come in the pipeline. Here's taking a look at which celebrities Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Varun Dhawan and few others can play onscreen.

salman khan, dharmendra

Salman Khan as Dharmendra

Dharmendra, who is known for his humour, when once asked who is suitable for the role in his biopic replied saying Salman Khan as he feels Dabangg Khan is the closest to his personality. He also said there are many similarities between him and Salman. He was also quoted saying, “I think he (Salman) can do it (biopic). Salman is a darling… He has some habits like me… You all know Salman and his habits well. He has gone on me.” So, let’s wait for the best to see the industry's Bhaijaan to do the role of Veeru Dharmendra soon.

Deepika Padukone, PT Usha

Deepika Padukone as PT Usha

PT Usha is said widely recognised as the first female athlete to make a name for herself and the country on an international level. Her extraordinary performance at the track has earned Usha titles such as Queen of Indian Track. Deepika Padukone, on the other hand, is a national-level bBadminton player and now a known Bollywood actress whose performances in movies like Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and many more have made her a favourite with audiences. So, if someone can do total justice to PT Usha’s role, it would be Deepika. With an athletic background herself she can relate more to Usha and would be able to take the audience on her journey with realism.

Varun Dhawan, Govinda

Varun Dhawan as Govinda

Govinda is widely regarded as one of the finest dancers Bollywood has ever seen. With his quirky and fantastic dance moves, everyone would love to tap their feet to the music seeing him dance. His dance became a style in itself. Varun Dhawan has been in the film industry for a few years now and since he is a big fan of Govinda we would love to see him play Raja Babu. From a grieving, manipulative and revenge-driven man in Badlapur to the fun-loving boy-next-door in Main Tera Hero, Varun has shown the guts to experiment with his look and roles. His dance also is similar to that of Govinda’s. His swift moves, hilarious expressions and colourful dressing sense is a throwback to Govinda during the mid-1990s.

Taapsee Pannu, Sania Mirza

Taapsee Pannu as Sania Mirza

Sania Mirza is arguably the most successful female tennis player India has had. Sania has to her credit the achievement of being India’s No. 1 player, she's also part of the World No. 1 female tennis duo (with Martina Hingis), and has a great fan following. She has been loved and adored by people worldwide and same is with actress Taapsee Pannu. Taapsee, who plays and follows different sports, has said that if she ever gets a chance to do a biopic on a athlete she will do it on Sania Mirza, since she can relate to her. Taapsee has impressed the audience with her performance in Baby, and we'd love for her to play a sports diva as well, and Sania is just that.

Kriti Sanon, Madhubala

Kriti Sanon as Madhubala

Madhubala was an eternal beauty and one of the most iconic actresses of Hindi cinema, who gave remarkable performances in films like Mughal-e-Azam, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Barsaat Ki Raat, and others. The actress died in 1969 after a prolonged illness. One name who would surely do justice to her role is Kriti Sanon. Kriti has impressed audiences with her performances in Heropanti and Dilwale, and when asked whom she wanted to do a biopic on, Kriti replied saying, “I would love to do a biopic on Madhubala. She was very pretty. I really admire her.” She also added that “She is someone who is still alive in our hearts and people still remember her. I feel she had a life which can actually be told. I think not many people know about her story and we can tell them.”
