India at Cannes: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Sonam Kapoor, Preity Zinta

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been a regular at the Cannes carpet since 2002. Later, she was joined by the likes of Mallika Sherawat in the year 2005, Sonam Kapoor in 2010 and Katrina Kaif in 2015. Actresses like Vidya Balan, Preity Zinta, Freida Pinto, Kalki Koechlin and Minissha Lamba have also been a part of the fest either as jury or as guests.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is India's unofficial ambassador to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. This year she completes 15 years at Cannes. She will walk the red carpet on May 17 and 20.

Aishwarya Rai will chair the annual amfAR gala along with husband Abhishek on May 21.

Sonam Kapoor, who walks the red carpet at Cannes as the brand ambassador of L'Oreal for the third year, has always surprised everyone with her style statement. From being traditional by wearing a white lace sari dress to going chic in a short red dress, the actress has always impressed the spectators.

Sonam Kapoor made a stunning appearance in a black gown in 2014. She looked great with her hair in a faux bob, Chopard earrings and red lip colour. In the year 2013, she was seen in a strapless white flowy gown with flower print.

Katrina Kaif made her red carpet debut at the 68th Cannes Film Festival last year.

'Kahaani' actress Vidya Balan walked the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival in 2013 as a jury member. The actress stuck to Sabyasachi for her Cannes debut. She was seen in a beautiful Sabyasachi lehenga with broad black borders with a dupatta on her head. She was also seen in a copper sari and a maroon lehenga.

Freida Pinto made her debut at Cannes as the brand ambassador of L'Oreal in year 2012. 'Slumdog Millionaire' actress has always stunned the spectators and turned the heads round with her style statement. Unfortunately, due to prior work commitments she will not be present at the Festival this year.

Mallika Sherawat has been a part of the prestigious festival since 2005. She first appeared on the red carpet along with Jackie Chan, who was her co-actor from the movie 'Myth'.

This year too, she has been invited to be on the discussion panel of “Co-Produce in India” by FICCI on behalf of the Information & Broadcasting Ministry to be held on May 14.

Kalki Koechlin made an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012 along with Anurag Kashyap for the movie 'Gangs of Wasseypur'. Kalki wore a nude coloured Dior gown and accessories.

Preity Zinta attended the Cannes Soiree Chopard Photocall. She made heads turn at Cannes 2006 in a blue satin gown.

Nimrat Kaur's debut film opposite Irrfan Khan 'The Lunchbox' was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in the year 2013. The actress was seen in a beautiful black Sabyasachi sari.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui walked the red carpet along with actress Niharika Singh at Cannes in 2012 for the screening of their film 'Miss Lovely'. This year again, his movie 'Miyan Kal Aana' will be screened at the fest, but the actor will give it a miss as he is busy shooting for his upcoming movie 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan.'

Ameesha patel had opted for a traditional look in the year 2013, when she walked the red carpet at Cannes for the film 'Shortcut Romeo'. She looked graceful in a Manish Malhotra lehenga choli.

Minissha Lamba made her appearance at Cannes in the year 2011 in a Gauri & Nainika gown.
