Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee, Jiah Khan : Actors who committed suicide

Actor Pratyusha Banerjee who rose to fame with popular TV serial Balika Vadhu on Friday committed suicide, according to Mumbai police. She hung herself from the ceiling of her suburban residence. She was also a contestant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 and was one of the participants of Bigg Boss 7 on Colors. She has worked in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya (TV series) in 2014 and was last seen in Hum Hain Na as the main female lead.

Popular Tamil TV actor Sai Prashanth committed suicide at his residence in Chennai recently. He had left a suicide note saying no one must be blamed for his death. Prashanth is said to have mixed poison in his drink and consumed it, which led to his death. He was 30. Police said the reason behind Prashanth’s suicide could be loneliness and depression.

Young actress Jiah Khan, who starred in Nishabd opposite Amitabh Bachchan committed suicide in her Juhu Apartment on June 3, 2013. Known for her bubbly nature, it came as a shock when people came to know that she was found hanging from the ceiling of her room.

The cause of Divya Bharti's death died with her. Some say that she was under the influence of alcohol when she fell down the balcony of her apartment and some say she committed suicide. She was just 19 when she passed away in 1993.

Yesteryear actress Parveen Babi was found dead in her apartment in the year 2005. Her death came as a shock to the industry. After a successful career, she was all alone in the last few days of her life. It was her neighbours who discovered that she didn't come out of her house to collect newspapers and milk.

Legendary actor was found dead in his house on October 10, 1964. It was said that he has been mixing sleeping pills in alcohol and drinking it. He had attempted suicide twice before that.

Famous South Indian actress, who rose to fame very quickly committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan in 1996. In her suicide note she had mentioned that she ended her life sue to failure.

A 23-year-old music channel VJ allegedly committed suicide in her hostel room in Sindhi Colony in Secunderabad early on Wednesday. K Nirosha, who worked with Gemini Music Channel (Telugu) and hails from Chittoor district, took the extreme step after having a tiff with her boyfriend, police suspect. Officials at Ramgopalpet police station said Nirosha had an argument with her boyfriend, who lives in Canada, during a video call. She could have hanged herself while the call was still on, they suspect.

MTV jockey and a model by profession, Nafisa Joseph also committed suicide on July 29, 2004. She committed suicide just few weeks before her marriage.
