Xiaomi Mi 4c launched in China; Here is how it differs from Mi 4i

Xiaomi Mi 4c looks similar to the Mi 4i but comes with new hardware and aims to offer a better experience.

The device is similar to the Mi4i, which was launched in India in April. The Xiaomi Mi 4c costs RMB 1299 for 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM version and RMB 1499 for 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. This translates to around Rs 13,500 and Rs 15,500 respectively. Mi 4i and Mi 4c looks similar, however, the new handset is powered by different hardware. While the Mi 4i runs on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 CPU with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM plus 16GB ROM, the new Mi 4c is powered by a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 CPU with Adreno 418 GPU and comes in 2GB RAM/ 16GB ROM or 3GB RAM/ 32GB ROM options. There is no microSD card slot on both the smartphones. The display of both the smartphones are similar. Both handsets sport a 5-inch 1080p display. The Mi 4c comes with Night Reading mode. On the other hand, the Mi 4i has Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Like the Mi 4i, the new Mi 4c also sports a 13MP A/F rear camera with dual tone LED flash and a 5MP front camera. The Mi 4c is powered by a slightly smaller 3080mAh battery while the Mi 4i has a 3,120 mAh battery. Both support Quick Charge and supports 4G connectivity on both SIM card slots. USB Type-C connector   The Mi 4c features a USB Type-C port. Xiaomi has ensured that this doesn't deter people by also launching a micro USB to USB Type-C adapter for RMB 5 or Rs 50.

USB Type-C connector   The new Mi 4i can be used as a remote to control devices like smart TVs, dSLR cameras and more. The company claims that the built-in IR remote supports over 2000 appliances.

Edge Tap   Along with double tap to wake screen, Xiaomi has introduced an Edge Tap feature on the side below the power/wake button. You can tap to open camera and double tap to go back.
