“The Lok Sabha election is an opportune time for settling scores with the Congress for inflation, unemployment and breach of its election promises,” said INLD president and former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, while addressing a joint meeting of INLD-BJP party workers at Jagadhari on Tuesday.

Chautala said people were annoyed with the Congress party as it had done “nothing for the common man”,despite its poll promises. He said that the Congress had always been pro-capitalist and this time, too,it made suitable policies. He said the time had come to vote out the UPA. “The people of the state are suffering due to the lack of electricity, water, deteriorating law and order and unemployment,” Chautala said, adding that the farmers were also in distress because of electricity crisis as their fields are without water.

Recalling the contributions of the previous NDA government, led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee,Chautala said the NDA government provided a stable and efficient government and the country had progressed a lot during that era. State BJP president Atam Parkash Manchanda and state INLD president Ashok Arora urged workers to educate people about the “failure” of the state and Central governments.
