Common Entrance Examinations for professional course in Kerala would be held on April 18 to April 20.
Releasing the prospectus of the examination at a function here today,State Education Minister M A Baby from this year’s onwards the basic marks of the qualifying examination also would be taken into account along with entrance examination marks for getting admission to engineering courses.
In the case of medical courses,marks of qualifying marks would be considered from next year,Baby said along with Health Minister P K Sreemathi.
Candidates can have prospectus from selected post offices from January 19 and last date for application to be received at the Entrance Commissioner Office here is February 14,Baby said.
Talks with self-financing professional institutions on fees structure would beginning soon and government expected to have agreement with more private Engineering and Medical colleges,he said.
For engineering courses total number of seats are 33,697 including 5603 seats in government colleges. A total of 2150 seats are for Medicine including 850 in government sector.
A total 1,20,000 candidates applied for the examination last year and this year the Examination Commissioners’ office has arranged for 1.30 lakh applications.
