There would be a shortfall of skilled and unskilled resources by over one lakh in Jharkhand by 2015,a study has claimed,observing there was an urgent need to give more focus on specialised skills.
The aim of study by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII),Eastern Region and consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers was to identify the ‘skill set’ of those to be recruited in 2015 and to identify and analyse the functional and behavioural skill set gap perceived by industry representatives.
Among the 8-fold recommendations,the report emphasised the need to increase the number of polytechnics and ITIs in the state,particularly in the districts with high concentration of industries.
