Maoists kill two more CPM men in Jangalmahal

The Maoists are again on a killing spree in Junglemahal. After beheading a CPM leader in Lalgarh yesterday,today they killed two CPM leaders in Sankrail.

The Maoists are again on a killing spree in Junglemahal. After beheading a CPM leader in Lalgarh yesterday,today they killed two CPM leaders in Sankrail.

Late yesterday night,a group of Maoists called a meeting at a ground in Sankrail and they ordered all the villagers to attend it. After the meeting,they asked the villagers to leave the area,except two of them — Paresh Rana and Sushil Mahato — who were not allowed to move,said a senior police officer.

Rana,a resident of Kuordara village was the secretary of the zonal committee of CPM and Mahato,a resident of Murakata village,was a local committee member. Their bodies were found today on a road with bullet wounds and stab injuries.

Manoj Verma,Superintendent of Police,West Midnapore,said that the police have started investigating the matter. A couple of days ago,the Maoists had torched a CPM party office at Dhanghori village.

Meanwhile,two Maoist linkmen were arrested from Dhanchetani village in Purulia. Somnath Mandi and Thakurdas Murmu were produced in the court today and remanded to police custody.
