The opposition AIADMK has charged the Congress government here with having let down farmers, fishermen, unemployed youth and downtrodden without addressing their problems and said they would suffer a crushing defeat in the coming assembly polls.

Speaking to reporters here,AIADMK Puducherry unit secretary A Anbalagan MLA said people were keeping a close vigil on the ‘anti-people’ performance of the government and waiting to throw them out of power. The polls would bring out ‘revolutionary and historic developments’,he said.

Anbalagan also took strong exception against the government plan to outsource private agencies to provide manpower for various Group D posts in the government run Women and Children hospital at its new premises and demanded that all the posts be filled only through employment exchanges.
