Thane TMC Election Result 2026, Thane Municipal Corporation Election Results 2026: According to the early trends, Shiv Sena is leading the Thane civic body elections with 17 seats as counting continues. The BJP follows with 7 seats, while AIMIM has secured 3 seats. The Shiv Sena (UBT faction) has won 2 seats, and Independents and the NCP have one seat each. However, the final results are still awaited.

In the last TMC election held in 2017, a total of 131 seats were contested in the Thane Municipal Corporation. The Shivsena emerged as the leading party by winning 67 seats, while the Nationalist Congress Party secured 35 seats, followed by the Bhartiya Janata Party with 23 seats, the Indian National Congress with 3 seats, the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen with 2 seats, the Independent with 1 seats.

Earlier, the BJP swept to power in Maharashtra, underlining its dominance in state politics by emerging as the single-largest party in 129 out of 288 local bodies that went to polls in the first two phases. The ruling Mahayuti coalition crossed the 200 mark, with the Shiv Sena winning 51 local bodies and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) 33.

In contrast, the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) barely touched the 50 mark, with the Congress winning 35 and the Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) finishing with eight each.
