The BJP and RSS want to crush the history, language, culture and religion of Mizoram, and the Congress will help the people preserve these, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said at a rally here on Tuesday.

“The heart of the difference between the BJP-RSS and the Congress is what the future of India should look like. The RSS and BJP feel that one ideology, one idea should be imposed on the rest of India. They want to crush local aspirations, the histories, the languages and the cultures of all of our states,” Rahul said. “We want to defend the culture, the language, the history, the religion of your state,” he said. “…I am certain the RSS and BJP are aiming at destroying Mizo culture, Mizo history, Mizo religion and everything that you hold valuable.”

Rahul addressed another rally in Champai, 180 km from Aizawl. He said, “PM Narendra Modi personally gave Rs 30,000 crore to Anil Ambani. That is the amount for a year’s spending on MGNREGA in the entire country.”

Alleging that Modi himself finalised the deal at Rs 1,600 crore per aircraft against UPA’s Rs 526 crore with conditions “to give the contract to Anil Ambani instead of PSU firm HAL”, Rahul said the negotiation facts between India and France were divulged by the former French President. “That is where Modi got all the money for his marketing. Remember, when you see Modi on TV next time, it is the money of you and Indian Air Force.”
