10 AAP workers held for ‘bribing’ voters

It is learnt that AAP volunteers were carrying a letter purportedly ‘signed’ by party chief Arvind Kejriwal and promising the voters various facilities in writing.

Ten AAP orkers were held for allegedly ‘bribing’ Dalit voters during a raid in Gill and Mudh villages of Nakodar area.
The raid was conducted by SDM Nakodar, Amit Gulati, on Sunday evening and later all of them were handed over to the police. Nakodar Sadar Police said they acted after a complaint from SDM Nakodar and AAP vounteers were presented in the court u/s 171 E IPC (Bribery).

SDM Nakodar said they were getting the forms filled regarding providing gas connection and providing other facilities in lieu of their votes.

It is learnt that AAP volunteers were carrying a letter purportedly ‘signed’ by party chief Arvind Kejriwal and promising the voters various facilities in writing. SHO Nakodar Sadar Inspector Davinder Singh said the ten AAP volunteers were luring the voters by getting filled the forms. They were released on bail later.
