Morena Lok Sabha constituency: Shiv Mangal Singh Tomar, BJP (Left) and Satyapal Singh Sikarwar, INC (Right)Morena Lok Sabha constituency: One of the 29 Lok Sabha constituencies of Madhya Pradesh is Morena. It covers the entire Morena and Seohar districts and comprises eight Vidhan Sabha seats, i.e., Sheopur, Vijaypur, Sabalgarh, Joura, Sumawali, Morena, Dimani and Ambah.
The constituency is part of the first batch of Lok Sabha constituencies formed in 1952. Until the 1991 elections, a constant swift of power was seen on this seat between Congress and Janta Dal (Now BJP). However, after 1991, the BJP won seven Lok Sabha elections back-to-back, establishing this place as their stronghold.
Morena will host the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday, May 7, in the third phase. The incumbent party, BJP, has decided to field a new face from this seat for the third time, as Shivmangal Singh Tomar will represent them, while Satyapal Singh Sikarwar will represent Congress against him.

For the third time in a row, the BJP has decided to drop their sitting MP of Morena, as for the 2024 elections, they have fielded Shivmangal Singh Tomar as a replacement for Narendra Singh Tomar, who is now a member of the Madhya Pradesh State Assembly. Even though Shivmangal has yet to win any major elections, the BJP has decided to put their faith in him to get them their eighth consecutive win from Morena.

In another surprising move, Congress has fielded the ex-BJP member and former MLA from Sumawali, Satyapal Singh Sikarwar, as their candidate for Morena’s upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Notably, Sikarwar was an old soldier for the BJP before getting expelled in 2020 for allegedly involving in anti-party activities. He went on to join Congress later and set to challenge his former party member for a place in the lower house of the Indian Parliament.
