Kolhapur KMC Election Result 2026, Kolhapur Municipal Corporation Election Results 2026 LIVE Updates: The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) manages the city’s complex infrastructure and urban planning. The KMC elections will be held on January 15, 2026 and the results will be declared on January 16, 2026. There are 549,236 number of voters who will elect 20 ward members. KMC has 20 wards across the city.
In the last KMC election held in 2017, a total of 81 seats were contested in the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the leading party by winning 33 seats, while the Indian National Congress (INC) secured 27 seats, followed by the Nationalist Congress Party with 14 seats, the Shivsena (SS) with 4 seats, the Independents with 3 seats.
Earlier, the BJP swept to power in Maharashtra, underlining its dominance in state politics by emerging as the single-largest party in 129 out of 288 local bodies that went to polls in the first two phases. The ruling Mahayuti coalition crossed the 200 mark, with the Shiv Sena winning 51 local bodies and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) 33.
In contrast, the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) barely touched the 50 mark, with the Congress winning 35 and the Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) finishing with eight each.
