Two held for burning Hardik Patel’s effigy

The accused, identified as Surat residents Kalpesh Dewani and Pratik Patel, were arrested under the Bombay Police Act and later released on bail. Dewani has denied any links with BJP.

Two Patidar youths were arrested on Saturday for allegedly burning an effigy of Hardik Patel in Sarthana, Varaccha late on Friday night. The Patidar Anamat Andolan Saminiti (PAAS) leaders have claimed that the attack was led by the BJP.

The accused, identified as Surat residents Kalpesh Dewani and Pratik Patel, were arrested under the Bombay Police Act and later released on bail. Dewani has denied any links with BJP.
