Congress releases first list of candidates for Arunachal Pradesh Assembly: Check here

The Congress party released its first list of  candidates for Arunachal Pradesh Assembly on Thursday. A delegation of Congress party leaders met the Election Commissioners today at Nirvachan Sadan and released the list. Arunachal Pradesh will go to Assembly and Lok Sabha elections simultaneously.

The BJP on March 13 announced a list of 60 candidates for Arunachal Pradesh Assembly. Several MLAs, who had jumped ship to the BJP, secured their place in the list. Senior Congress MLA and former Union Minister Ninong Ering and Wanglin Lowangdong, and NPP’s Mutchu Mithi and Gokar Basar joined the saffron party during a function at its headquarters on February 24.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP had won 41 seats, the JDU 7, the National People’s Party 5, the Congress 4, the People’s Party of Arunachal had won 1 and two Independents. The Congress is left with just one MLA, former CM Nabam Tuki currently.
