Basirhat Dakshin (West Bengal) Assembly Election Results 2026 Live: Surajit Mitra (Badal) of the AITC won the Basirhat Dakshin assembly seat, defeating Abu Esahak Gazi (INC), Amirul Gazi (BSP), Aynul Arefin(Raju Ahmed) (CPI(M)), Dr. Sourya Banerjee (BJP), Hironmoy Mondal (SUCI(C)), Jishnudeep Majumdar (IND), Shabana Parvin (All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen), Soumen Das (IND), Subhasis Das (IND), Surajit Mondal (IND).
In the 2021 assembly elections, the candidates are as follows – All India Trinamool Congress Dr. Saptarshi Banerjee, Bharatiya Janta Party Tarak Nath Ghosh, Indian National Congress Amit Majumdar and others. In the last Basirhat Dakshin Assembly elections, the All India Trinamool Congress party’s Dr. Saptarshi Banerjee won by a margin of 24,468 votes. The Bharatiya Janta Party’s Tarak Nath Ghosh was the runner up securing 91,405 votes.
The total electorate in this constituency is approximately 2,64,853, including male and female voters across urban and rural segments.
