Trailing candidates include Ajit Kumar (IND), Anand Shankar Singh (INC), Ashish Kumar Soni (IND), Binod Prasad Chaudhari (IND), Dhirendra Kumar Singh (IND), Lok Nath Singh (IND), Nand Kishor Yadav (Jan Suraaj Party), Neha Kumari (IND), Prayag Paswan (SUCI(C)), Ram Swarup Paswan (IND), Rambahadur Singh (IND), Shakti Kumar Mishra (BSP), Surendra Prasad (IND), Vinay Kumar Singh (Akhil Hind Forward Bloc (Krantikari)).
In the last Assembly elections, the INC’s Anand Shankar Singh won by a margin of 2243 votes. The BJP’s Ramadhar Singh was the runner up securing 67775 votes.
Bihar witnessed a voter turnout of 57.3% this year, slightly higher than in 2020. The regional alliances — the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan and the NDA comprising JD(U) and BJP and others — battled for dominance in the state.
