“You are listening to the Expresso Entertainment Update. Here is the latest news from the world of Television and OTT platforms brought to you by The Indian Express.

The much awaited Netflix show, Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 has released the final trailer of their show. The first part of the fourth season releases on May 27, and ahead of the premiere, we have been getting an exciting peek at the series. While the trailer doesn’t reveal much, we do see Eleven, the protagonist, having some flashbacks from the time she was at Hawkins lab, and Steve is seen fighting off some dangerous-looking Upside Down monsters, even as the world itself seems to have turned on its head. Literally, in this case. The watchers have high expectations going into this, and so do we.
“Moving onto news on the very famous K-Drama, “Tomorrow”. The drama has now concluded after 16 episodes on a bittersweet note. Tomorrow revolved around a group of Grim Reapers from the ‘Crisis Management’ team, who are entrusted with the task of saving suicidal humans and have to prove to them how important life really is. “Tomorrow” explores the idea of two people struggling to overcome trauma together, and despite being in love, they’re unable to become each other’s support systems through healthy means.
After handling some cases rather harshly, the series takes a less problematic route. This K-drama show has received a lot of good reviews and has created an extensive fandom. People are only hoping for it to come back. ”
Meanwhile, the talk of the town “Modern Love Mumbai” has gotten some mixed reviews. As the name suggests, it is the Mumbai version of “Modern Love”– John Carney’s American series based on New York Times columns – and is a six-part series that has its characters navigating their worlds in the maximum city instead of New York. To support the six stories in the anthology – the makers of the show got six composers into different studios and the result is a seven-track album that could have hit it out of the park. After all, there are names like Vishal Bhardwaj, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and Ram Sampath on the list. Along with six composers, all of them giants in their specific genres, it still is unable to pull off complete brilliance.
In other news, speaking of the series that has only been receiving good reviews, “Panchayat”. It has gained popularity with its intelligent perception of rural life, with all its bizarreness and pitfalls. This season (with eight episodes) digs deeper by adding more details and subtle humour to a narrative that unfolds at a leisurely pace, in keeping with the rustic setting. For instance, before making a public announcement, there is a debate over whether to use ‘priya’ and ‘pyaare’ while addressing the villagers. The second season has scaled up the show’s concerns. The seemingly idyllic life in Phulera is shaken when a tragedy strikes. This makes the show shed its signature feel-good vibe, unexpectedly, even as it brings the community closer.
The well-known Television Indian comedian Kapil Sharma took pot-shots at Akshay Kumar for playing romantic hero to female leads much younger than him. Akshay, will be seen opposite 25-year-old Manushi Chhillar in Prithviraj. Blame the audience, not the actors,”
“Moving on: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is in for some good news. One of their favourite characters, Daya Ben, is set to return to the show. However, whether actor Disha Vakani will reprise the role is still unclear.

We know that the show’s massive fanbase has been missing Daya Ben’s funny antics with husband Jethalal Gada for years now. Producer Asit Kumarr Modi now has an update. The chances of Disha Vakani returning are slim. Disha has been on a sabbatical from the show ever since her maternity break in 2017. While the buzz in the industry suggests that her in-laws want her to focus on her family, others believe that Disha has asked for a huge hike.
