To announce the release date, a special video was released on social media by the makers. SSMB28 will bring Mahesh Babu back with Pooja Hegde after their 2019 romantic action film Maharshi. Interestingly, the 28th day of April has been chosen as the release date as SSMB28 is the 28th film of Mahesh. Another interesting fact is that the actor’s blockbuster film Pokiri was also released on April 28, 2006.
“Meanwhile, it’s been ages since we all have seen Nagarjuna Akkineni in a proper action film. And, going by the new teaser of his next movie The Ghost, the long wait seems to be getting over soon. The makers of The Ghost on Thursday unveiled a new promo titled Tamahagane.
Sharing the teaser on his Twitter handle, Nagarjuna wrote, “#TAMAHAGANE!! A legendary metal for the Katana of the fiercest of warriors through the ages. Now in the hands of #TheGhost!!”

“In other news,Tamilrockers is the piracy website that went from being a nuisance to becoming a serious threat to the Tamil film industry in a matter of a few months. At one point, the illegal website was releasing pirated films on the day of the film’s theatrical release, shocking industry insiders.
Now, SonyLiv is coming up with a web series titled Tamilrockerz, which is based on some of the real events that panned out during the mission to nab the culprits behind Tamilrockers. With Arivazhagan of Eeram fame as the director, the series has Arun Vijay in the lead role as Rudra, a police officer. ”
“Moving on, many Tamil TV actors, who became household names, recently came together for a reunion in Chennai. Pictures from the get-together are making rounds on social media.
The event had a dress code. While the actors were in black, the actresses were seen in red attire at the event. It was a splash of nostalgia as everyone shared old stories and experiences in the industry, which have evolved over the years. It can be said that the 90s and the early 2000s were the golden age of Tamil TV. With hit shows like Marama Deasam, Chithi, Chinna Papa Periya Papa, Metti Oli, and Krishnadasi, TV played a huge part in pop culture.
“In some exciting news, filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s assistant Ashwin Gangaraju is all set to helm a period drama. The film titled 1770 was announced on Wednesday. The creative poster of the film suggests that it is based on the freedom struggle against colonial forces. It shows a fighter just armed with a sword charging against enemies armed with guns. 1770 is based on legendary writer Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s Bengali novel Anandamath. The movie will be adopted for the screen by popular scenarist V. Vijayendra Prasad, the father of SS Rajamouli.
The makers are in the process of finalizing the cast and they are expected to reveal the details by Deepavali this year.”
“In some tragic news, veteran Malayalam actor Nedumbram Gopi, known for his pious roles in a handful of movies, succumbed to age-related ailments at a private hospital recently, family sources said. He was 85.
A former employee of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) Limited, Gopi entered the tinsel town through the award-winning movie Kazhcha, directed by ace filmmaker Blessy.
His touching performance as a father and grandfather in the 2004 Mammootty-starrer had won wide appreciation.
He later appeared in small but notable roles in a handful of movies, teaming with prominent directors including Jayaraj and actors like Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, and so on.
“Actor-director Madhavan took to Twitter to quash a rumour that claimed that he had to sell his house to make his recent release Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. A LinkedIn user claimed that after the exit of Anant Mahadevan from the project, who was earlier roped in as the director of the film, Madhavan had to sell his house to make up for the loss. Madhavan claimed that it’s untrue and the film has been a profitable venture for everyone involved in it.
Madhavan wrote on Twitter, “ Please don’t over patronize my sacrifice. I did not lose my house or anything. Gods grace We all made very good and proud profits. I still love and live in my house”.”
We end this bulletin with news on Malayalam superstar Mammootty. He recently met former Sri Lankan cricket team captain Sanath Jayasuriya.
