Let us begin today’s bulletin with news on Hollywood star Idris Elba who is set to play the lead role in production house Dark Horse Entertainment’s upcoming movie Bang. To be directed by Bullet Train filmmaker David Leitch, the film is based on the comic series by Matt Kindt and Wilfredo Torres.
The movie is a part of Dark Horse Entertainment’s extended partnership with streaming platform Netflix. According to a press release issued by the streamer, the stylish spy thriller will be written by Kindt and Zak Olkewicz. Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg are producing the project for Dark Horse Entertainment along with Leitch and Kelly McCormick of 87 North and Elba.

Meanwhile, it has been rumoured that Tom Cruise’s turn as Ethan Hunt in the Mission Impossible movies will be coming to an end after the seventh and eighth parts of the franchise titled ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1’ and ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2’, respectively. In the latest episode of Light the Fuse podcast, director Christopher McQuarrie was asked about the same but he refused to confirm or deny the rumours. While Christopher McQuarrie is non-committal about Tom Cruise staying with the franchise, the director did mention that he and the Top Gun star are set to collaborate on another project soon.
“Passengers on a flight to Hawaii were in for the surprise of their lives when American actor Jason Momoa turned up as their flight attendant. A video of the actor giving the water bottle has gone viral on social media.
In the video, Jason is seen in a grey suit with a pink flower tucked behind his ear, just like the other attendants of that flight. According to New York Post, the water bottles were from the sustainable Manannalu brand, which has been launched by Jason himself. Jason is also said to have given every passenger 10,000 Hawaiian Airlines Miles. However, there is no confirmation of this from the actor or the airline’s company.”
“Recently, the news broke that Warner Bros. Discovery will not release Batgirl either theatrically or on HBO Max. A day after this surprising news, the filmmaker’s behind the project have given a statement.
Directors of the film, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah said in a statement on Instagram, “We are saddened and shocked by the news. We still can’t believe it. As directors, our work must be shown to audiences, and while the film was far from finished, we wish that fans all over the world would have had the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves. Maybe one day they will.”

“Following up on “”Batgirl””, the movie was in its final stages of post-production and has been pulled down by Warner Bros from its theatrical as well as streaming release calendar.
According to the entertainment website Deadline, the new Warner Bros team is cutting back on the feature films premiering on the streamer and is deciding which films will be released theatrically and which will be shelved. Batgirl, starring Leslie Grace in the titular role with Michael Keaton reprising his Bruce Wayne part, was expected to bow sometime in 2023. Apart from the superhero film, the studio has also decided to shelve the Scooby-Doo title, Scoob!: Holiday Haunt.

“Moving on, we can’t wait for the upcoming sequel, “Joker: Folie a Deux”.
A motion picture sequel to the Oscar-winning psychological thriller Joker, based on one of the world’s best-known comic book villains, is set for release in theatres on October 4, 2024, a spokesperson for film distributor Warner Bros said recently.
