Let us begin today’s bulletin with news on ‘Joker sequel Folie a Deux’. Actor Zazie Beetz is in negotiations to join the upcoming Joker sequel Folie a Deux. According to Variety, if the deal goes through, Beetz will reprise her role of Sophie Dumond, a single mother and the neighbour of Arthur Fleck/ Joker, played by Joaquin Phoenix.
The upcoming film is a “musical” follow-up to the Todd Phillips-directed anti-hero character study Joker, which was released in 2019. Phillips is co-writing the screenplay of the sequel with Scott Silver. Production on Joker: Folie a Deux is expected to begin in December, with a premiere date set for October 4, 2024. Beetz was most recently seen in David Leitch’s Bullet Train.
“In some dismal news, Anne Heche remained hospitalized on a ventilator to help her breathe and faced surgery Tuesday, four days after the actor was injured in a fiery car crash. “Shortly after the accident, Anne became unconscious, slipping into a coma and is in critical condition,” spokeswoman Heather Duffy Boylston said in an email. “She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention.”
Pulmonary means having to do with the lungs. No further details were provided by Duffy Boylston, who is Heche’s friend and podcast partner. On August 5, Heche’s car smashed into a house in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles’ westside and caught on fire
“In some heart-rending news, Newton-John died on Monday at her ranch in Southern California at age 73. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and had lived with the disease on and off since then. Since her death, several fans and peers invoked her most famous role and posted on social media, mourning the passing of “Our Sandy”.
Actor John Travolta, tweeted, “My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!””
“Danish director Lars von Trier, 66, has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and will do limited promotion for his upcoming supernatural TV series “Kingdom Exodus”
Von Trier often referred to as the “enfant terrible” of contemporary cinema, was in “good spirits” and is being treated for his symptoms, Zentropa said in a statement.
The “Kingdom Exodus” is the third and final instalment in von Trier’s 1990s cult TV show “The Kingdom”.The series premieres at the Venice Film Festival later this month as a five-hour film. It will be launched in five episodes on Viaplay’s platform and Danish broadcaster DR later this year.

The police report said Miller was located shortly before midnight Sunday and was issued a citation to appear for arraignment in Vermont Superior Court on September 26th. The felony charge adds to Miller’s mounting legal woes and reports of erratic behaviour.
“Moving on, veteran actor Pierce Brosnan wrapped up the filming of ‘The Last Rifleman’, which is directed by Terry Loane. The actor took to his social media pages and thanked his team, calling it a ‘dream’. He also shared more photos of his look as 89-year-old World War II veteran Artie Crawford for the film. For The Last Rifleman, Brosnan is sporting a bald grey wig with matching eyebrows.

“Lastly, filmmaker Jordan Peele‘s much-awaited movie Nope will hit the Indian theatres on August 19, Universal Pictures announced recently. The sci-fi horror movie is Peele’s third directorial after critically-acclaimed titles Get Out (2017) and Us (2019).
It revolves around siblings who run a horse ranch in the state of California, where the residents of a lonely gulch witness peculiar, ominous activities in the skies above. Worsening the situation is the owner of an adjacent theme park, who is trying to profit from the mysterious, otherworldly phenomenon. Nope reunites Peele with his Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya, who won an Oscar for best supporting actor for his performance in Judas and the Black Messiah.
