"We begin with information on Chaksu seeds, commonly used in Ayurveda, which are known for their numerous health benefits as nutritionist Lovneet Batra recently shared on Instagram.
She said the seeds are a desi superfood found in almost all the states of India, particularly North-West India, in the foot of the Himalayas and Ceylon, and have many medicinal properties that can be used in the form of decoction, powder, and even juice.

Karishma Shah PhD, Integrative Health Nutritionist & Holistic Life Coach, added that the seeds are diuretic in nature, have anti-inflammatory properties, are good for managing kidney, liver, and urinary tract infections, managing hypertension, increasing blood flow, that can be used for cleaning the eyes, and as a face mask."
"A new study by researchers at the University of Toronto has found that honey may be good for cardiometabolic health. Their logic is based on the fact that, unlike most sweeteners, honey isn’t all about the sinful fructose and glucose but has rare sugars which improve glucose response, reduce insulin resistance and grow good gut bacteria.
Dr V Mohan, Chairman, of Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, Chennai says however that while it may be true that for select populations where carb intake is low, in India honey is intensely sweet. So even people without diabetes can tolerate only small quantities of it. "
"Meanwhile,

Winter season, which is marked by a festive atmosphere, scrumptious delicacies, and warm snuggles, is finally here! As you prepare to revel in this holiday season, it’s crucial to not miss out on your health as colder temperatures are synonymous with lots of seasonal illnesses like colds, and coughs and could exacerbate chronic illnesses such as heart ailments. Being indoors more leads to sedentary habits, which may cause fluctuation in cholesterol levels causing ailments like diabetes, heart disease, etc. and can also lead to overeating. So remember to eat your proteins, have immunity boosters like turmeric, soups, sweet potatoes, dry fruits, green leafy vegetables and ghee in your foods, and have lots of vitamin C."
"Knowing the tell-tale signs of an omega-3 deficiency can help you overcome it. Omega-3 refers to a group of three fatty acids that our bodies need that come from animal and vegetable fats, and are very good for the body. Omega-3 helps support major organs in the body – the heart, brain and eyes – helping in normal functioning.

Some visible signs of its deficiency, are Mental fog, Depression, Weight gain, Brittle fingernails, Allergies,
Arthritis, Poor sleep quality, Memory problems, Dry hair, Dry skin, Lack of concentration and Fatigue.

To combat deficiency, one can consume foods like Soybean, Cold-pressed olive oil, Flaxseed, Kidney beans, Pumpkin, Edamame, Chia seeds, Hemp seeds, Walnut, Spinach and fish like Salmon, and Mackerel, and supplements like Algal oil supplement."
"Moving on,
Dr Padmini B V, head clinical dietitian, Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore, says that exercising during sun exposure helps in better absorption of vitamin D and improves bone strength while also helping in regulating the circadian rhythm (sleep cycle). Exposure to sunlight also enhances cognitive and brain function.
Noting that sunlight is required to help the body produce vitamin D, nutritionist Leema Mahajan, in an Instagram post, said that vitamin D is involved in the creation of many proteins and enzymes that are essential for human health and also prevent several diseases. Exposure to sun rays can help increase the production of serotonin, a hormone that stabilises mood, making one feel calm and happy."
Coming to fitness, celebrities often share their workout videos on social media. In doing so, they not only impress us with their commitment to healthy living but also set massive fitness goals. In a similar vein, giving us a glimpse of actor Esha Gupta‘s fitness session was her trainer Saqib Merchant. As seen in his videos of the actor working out, it is seen that strength training is the main component. This is because a good weight training routine prepares you for day-to-day activities, mentions certified fitness trainer Sameeran Chetia. Experts suggest that strength training is one of the best ways to improve strength in areas such as the core, legs, lower back and upper body, especially as one ages.
Meanwhile, Chhavi Mittal regularly posts her workouts and successes on Instagram. She said that she is happy to have sweet soreness in the glutes and the baby victory of learning and completing workouts every day. She added that it is advised to hit the gym regularly or indulge in some form of physical exercise to keep the body fit, healthy and agile. She added that many hesitate to take the first step as they fear getting it wrong and hurting themselves in the process. But, that it’s crucial to note that when you do something for the first time, there’s bound to be imperfection, error and even clumsiness and to not let that stop us from staying healthy and happy.
Lastly, fitness is a discipline that comes with numerous health benefits. But we also agree that workouts, after a point, can feel boring if new moves are not introduced into the regimen. If you are also reeling under the burden of monotony and fatigue, here’s some much-needed fitness inspiration from actor Drashti Dhami who shared her ‘new formula’ to keep up with her ‘fitness mojo’, which is a good warm-up. She added that after training with @coach.Urmi continually from 2016-2021, she has taken the level of warm-ups many notches higher which is important to level up the field of one's workouts.
