The highly anticipated Yash actioner KGF Chapter 2 has hit theatres today. The film, which also stars Bollywood actors Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles, will be clashing with Tamil superstar Vijay’s latest release Beast at the box office. In a recent interview with Film Companion, KGF star Yash claimed that KGF 2 is as relatable as any other generic slice of life films being made today, if not more, despite its heavy-duty action sequences. The actor said, “KGF is a story about a mother who has suffered a lot in her life and wants her son to not live like her. She wants him to be rich at least when he dies. That is a relatable point for the whole of the country. Only 1 per cent of people who are privileged, only they may not relate to it.” KGF Chapter 2 is the final instalment in the KGF franchise. Both the films have been written and directed by Prasanth Neel.

Global star Priyanka Chopra has opened up about being a new parent. While speaking to social media star Lilly Singh, the actor talked about what kind of a parent she had, and what kind of a parent she wants to be. Priyanka and husband Nick Jonas welcomed a baby girl in January this year via surrogacy. During a conversation, Priyanka mentioned her thought process as a new parent and went on to share how as a new parent right now, she keeps thinking about never imposing her desires, fears, her upbringing on to her child. Acclaimed actor Sakshi Tanwar is set to star in Netflix’s Mai, which will see her play a grieving mother, who sets out to avenge her daughter’s death. The film, from the stables of Karnesh Ssharma‘s Clean Slate Filmz, also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Vivek Mushran, Raima Sen, and Prashant Narayanan among others. Ever since the trailer of the film dropped, fans have been comparing the web show with Sridevi’s Mom and Raveena Tandon’s Maatr. Both these films also presented the story of a mother, who fights all odds to bring justice to her daughter. Speaking to indianexpress.com, Sakshi said that while it’s ‘nice’ to be compared, the stories of all these projects are very different from each other.

Kangana Ranaut-starrer Dhaakad’s teaser was recently released by the makers. Ever since the release, many people have pointed out how athletic and agile Kangana looked as Agent Agni on screen. In another Instagram story, Kangana Ranaut shared a look from her film Thalaivii, stating that Dhaakad was filmed right after she completed the political drama. “Dhaakad was right after Thalaivii, 20 kgs weight wasn’t my only challenge. My body was damaged in many ways. Today to be called better than the best action star in the world is a big compliment,” her note read. Also starring Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta, Dhaakad will release in cinemas on May 20.
