Trend-Spotting: Is Tennis becoming a tall player’s game?
Height has been largely inconsequential in Tennis. From the big four (Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray) to players like Arthur Ashe, Serena Williams and even Billie Jean King, no one has been exceptionally tall. But now, nine out of fifteen players in the ATP rankings are 6’4 or above. So, what’s happening here? Why is Tennis seeing more taller players than before? Will the sport be dominated by giants in the future? In this episode of Trend-spotting, Daksh and Gaurav discuss if height is finally going to matter in Tennis.
