Game Time: Why Sushil Kumar’s case is another reminder about wrestling’s link with crime

On May 4th, Sagar Rana, a 24 year old wrestler and a former junior national champion was beaten to death and his two friends were physically assaulted. And the person who is said to be involved in this incident is the two-time Olympic medalist and arguably India’s biggest sports personality, wrestler Sushil Kumar.

A FIR has now been filed against Kumar and he is currently on the run from the police. But this case is yet another reminder of the notorious link between crime and wrestling. In this episode, Gaurav Bhatt and Mihir Vasavda talk about the case against Kumar and how wrestlers have often been linked to or charged in criminal cases.
