Game Time: Why a draw against Qatar is really a win for Indian football

Tuesday was a big day for Indian football. On that day, in their second qualifying match for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Doha, India survived waves of attacks from Qatar to hold the reigning Asian champions to a goal-less draw. Only 3 teams before Tuesday had stopped Qatar from scoring a goal this year – Brazil, Argentina and Columbia. In this episode, sports journalist Mihir Vasavda joins Daksh and Gaurav to talk about what makes this one of the biggest results in Indian football, how the Blue Tigers managed to achieve it and what it says about the progress they have made over time. But first our hosts discuss Rafael Nadals’s win at the US Open and Australia winning the Ashes series.
