In 2017, a dairy farmer named Pehlu Khan from Nuh tehsil, Haryana was lynched by a group of gau rakshaks in Alwar who alleged that he was a cow smuggler. Now, two years later, it has come to light that under the current Congress government in Rajasthan, Pehlu Khan was named in a chargesheet for cow smuggling. Rajasthan correspondent Deep Mukherjee explains one, why the matter has come up again, two, the status of the cases against Khan’s sons for cow smuggling and against the men who lynched him and last, how the Rajasthan government has reacted to the investigation.
