The Tamil Nadu Premier League and how spot-fixing works in India
On Monday, the Indian Express reported that an India player, an IPL regular and a Ranji Trophy coach are among those who figure in an internal investigation by the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit which has found rampant corruption in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). Sources said that bookies and match-fixers are running the team in a way that they are making huge amounts of money. In this episode, Nihal Koshie, who writes on cricket for the Indian Express, joins us to talk about exactly how spot-fixing works in India, how deep it runs and what the government can do to stop it.
