Our flagship daily news show, where hosts Shashank Bhargava and Snigdha Sharma talk to in-house experts about what is going on and why you need to care about it.
Almost a decade ago, it was Mamata Banerjee’s All Indian Trinamool Congress (TMC) that had helped defeat the Left Front in West Bengal, ending its nearly 34 year rule. But now the table seems to have turned for the party. After being in power all this while, it is now facing strong opposition from the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). A party that has been aggressively trying to gain ground in the state.
In this episode, we talk to Shantanu Chowdhury, who writes on West Bengal politics for the Indian Express, about the challenge that the TMC is facing this time, how the two parties have been preparing for the election, and can Mamata Banerjee stop the BJP from coming to power in the state.
