President Barack Obama put his oratorical skills to good use on Wednesday while endorsing presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at the Philadelphia Democratic Convention saying that he was ‘passing the baton’ into responsible hands. Highlighting the achievements of his tenure, President Obama made a passionate appeal towards the people to support Clinton as ‘no one was more capable’ than her.

Criticizing Republican rival Donald Trump, Obama said America does not need to be ruled. Cheers from the audience grew louder as he used the declaration of independence in his speech. Calling out Trump’s claims on making American great again, Obama said the country was already ‘great and strong.’ He also targetted Trump for not having plans and for not being a ‘facts guy’.

In his speech, Obama also mentioned how Clinton was a tough rival eight years ago, during his primaries that had pitted the two Democrats against each another. His speech sent Twitter users into a frenzy resulting in a barrage of tweets quoting him, lauding him and objecting to his ideas. Here are some of the tweets:

He ended his speech by asking people to ‘carry’ Hillary Clinton the same way they carried him and asked people to ‘reject cynicism’ in the November elections by voting for Clinton.
