UK Election: Farage’s Reform UK overtakes Sunak’s Conservatives in opinion polls
The poll, which was conducted after the UK PM Rishi Sunak announced the party’s manifesto, is a clear indication that Conservatives might be headed for a debacle.

In the run up to the July 4 UK election, it is becoming a tightrope walk for the incumbent PM Rishi Sunak led Conservatives as the recent opinion polls suggest that the party has been overtaken by Reform UK.
It is the first time in this poll that Reform UK, which is being spearheaded by Nigel Farage, has overtaken the Tories (Conservative Party).
The poll, which was conducted after the UK PM Rishi Sunak announced the party’s manifesto, is a clear indication that Conservatives might be headed for a debacle.
The poll carried out by YouGov for the Times newspaper suggests that Reform UK is leading with 19% support base, which is an increase of 2% from the previous poll while the Conservatives remained at 18% with no change in support in comparison to the previous poll.
Multiple pollsters have suggested that the Keir Starmer led Labour Party is bound to win the UK election in July and Starmer is poised to become the next Prime Minister.
Though in the YouGov poll, the Labour Party which is leading with a comfortable majority lost little control as it is placed at 37% with a loss of 1% support since last time.
In a video posted by Nigel Farage on X, he said “This is the inflection point. The only wasted vote now is a Conservative vote, we are the challengers to Labour and we are on our way.”

Liberal Democrats are at 14%, Green Party at 7%, Scottish National Party (SNP) at 3%, Plaid Cymru at 1% and Others at 2%.

The poll which was conducted on June 12 and 13 had a sample size of over 2,200 adults.
With 20 days to go for the elections, Reform UK is proving to be a major hurdle to cross for the Rishi Sunak led Conservatives as the former may not be able to win the election but would certainly eat into the votes of Conservatives.
