Turkey mass shooting in Mersin left four people dead and several others injured after a gunman opened fire at multiple locations before fleeing, prompting a large-scale police manhunt.

The shooting took place at a restaurant in the Tarsus district, Mersin province and the suspect then fled in a car, BBC reported quoting local Turkey outlets.

A large scale operation has been launched by Turkey police to arrest the gunman who escaped after opening fire at a restaurant. The suspect’s motive behind the attack and identity remains unknown.

According to Turkish media reports, two people were killed inside the restaurant and they are believed to be the owner and and employee of the restaurant.
