Police in New York are searching for the suspects who carried out a swift burglary at a luxury SoHo boutique early Monday, escaping with merchandise valued at nearly 2 million dollars, (about Rs 9 crore).
Surveillance video shows the thieves smashing their way into 4G Seller, a second-floor boutique on Spring Street known for its curated designer pieces and celebrity clients. The burglars climbed the fire escape at around 4.30 am local time, while a lookout stood watch on the quiet street below.
“We got an alarm alert and looked at the cameras and there were two guys in here, masked up, in construction outfits with headlamps. They knew exactly what they were going for,” Tommy Macari, partner and brand ambassador of 4G Seller was quoted as saying by a local affiliate of ABC.

Upstairs neighbour Guy Story said he was jolted awake by the sound of glass breaking. Having lived in SoHo for decades, he said he felt for the shop’s owner, Vincent Ferraro.
“He has been working super hard for years, trying to build a business here and he does not deserve this,” Story said, ABC affiliate reported.
Many of the stolen pieces are worth tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars, and some are one-of-a-kind. The store believes the thieves may have known what to take but may not realise how instantly recognisable the pieces are.
“People wear these clothes to be seen. If someone appears in a one-of-one piece, we will figure it out,” Macari said.
