Nepal’s former PM and Maoist chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said Chinese President Xi Jinping would be taking up the issue of “blockade” and short supply of goods from India to Nepal with PM Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Dahal, popularly known as Prachanda, has also said NSA Ajit Doval had “failed to honour his commitment to lift the blockade in three hours.” Addressing the central committee meeting of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal-Maoists, Dahal said Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai called on him and told him Jinping would take up the issue with Modi.

He said he had spoken to Doval and “despite his promise to lift the blockade in three hours, nothing has been done even in eight hours after that.”
