China today announced USD 1.92 million assistance package for Nepal to fund economic and technical cooperation projects between the two countries.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai and Nepalese Finance Secretary Shanta Raj Subedy inked a Memorandum of Understanding to this effect at a function here, Nepal’s Finance Ministry sources said.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Chuntai said it would help the economic development endeavours of Nepal. He also said that China is looking forward to maintain political stability following the promulgation of a new constitution in Nepal.
Finance Secretary Subedi expressed gratitude to the support which, he hoped, would help Nepal achieve its targeted economic growth rate of 5.5 per cent.
