During the event, Harris made headlines with a comment about self-defence, stating, “If somebody breaks into my house, they’re getting shot, sorry.” Harris then joked, “Probably should not have said that,” as the audience laughed.

Kelly expressed disappointment with Winfrey’s handling of the town hall, calling it a “debacle” and “the ultimate culmination of her journalistic fails.”

Kelly criticised Winfrey for not pressing Harris with tough questions, especially on issues like gun control and the border crisis. “She should have asked about Harris’ support for mandatory gun buybacks,” Kelly said, adding, “You can craft that question in a number of ways, but it must be crafted if you’re an honest broker. She’s not.”

Kelly further criticised Winfrey’s delivery during the event, saying, “I was like, what’s she doing? This feels affected, forced, and it’s making me uncomfortable.”

She also claimed that Winfrey’s wealth has distanced her from ordinary Americans, describing her as a “cleansed, elite, billionaire” who hasn’t “spent time hanging out with a working-class person” in years, as reported by The New York Post.
