This followed the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar by Israeli forces last week. Soon after, Hezbollah launched around 200 “projectiles,” the Israeli military told Reuters. Israel’s military also said it had destroyed tunnel shafts and underground infrastructure in southern Lebanon. It also said it had killed Hezbollah’s deputy commander of the Bint Jbeil area on Friday, the report stated.
Israel is not expected to make a "significant move" against Tehran but may mount a "limited attack", Revolutionary Guards cultural and social commander Mohammad Ali Jafari said Tuesday, as per Iranian Student News Network. "Israel is too small to be able to attack Iran, although it may carry out a desperate, limited, and small attack to say it has retaliated, but it will definitely not carry out an offensive (strike) similar to ours," Jafari said, according to SNN.
The UN Palestinian refugee agency called on Tuesday for a temporary truce in areas of northern Gaza to allow people to leave, news agency Reuters reported. This comes after the Gaza health officials said that they were running out of supplies to treat patients who sustain injuries in the Israeli attacks.

Israel has claimed to find a hidden bunker of Hezbollah with millions of dollars in gold and cash as it declassified intelligence on Hezbollahâs financial network beneath a hospital in Lebanon, and the way in which it is used to fund its activities, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said on Monday.
During a televised briefing shared over X (formerly Twitter), the IDF spokesperson RAdm. Daniel Hagari, claimed that the Israeli Air Force carried out a âseries of precise strikes on this Hezbollahâs financial stronghold,â Al-Qard Al-Hassan, on Monday, after calling on Lebanese citizens to âmove out of armâs wayâ from its facilities across Lebanon.
Hezbollah has claimed that it bombed the Nirit area in the Tel Aviv suburbs with missiles, according to a Reuters report.
The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has intensified over the past few weeks, with Israel attacking sites linked to the financial operations of the group, its arms facilities in southern Beirut, intelligence headquarters and an underground workshop for the production of weapons, besides killing many of Hezbollah’s top leaders, and sending ground troops across the border.

Hezbollah Tuesday launched a barrage of rockets into central Israel, setting off air raid sirens in the country’s most populated areas but causing no apparent damage or injuries, news agency AP reported.
The report, quoting the Israeli military, stated that five projectiles were fired from Lebanon into Israel, with most of them having been intercepted by Israel’s missile defense system. One landed in an open area.
The Israeli military said that at the same time, about 15 projectiles were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel.

Sirens sounded in central Israel as a projectile was identified crossing from Lebanon and falling into open ground, the army said on Tuesday, news agency Reuters reported.
Alerts were sounded in the Samaria area and in Modi’in Illit, the Israeli military added in a statement.

The United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, headed to the Middle East in a hope to sign another elusive ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, to end the over year long Gaza war and diffuse the spill over effect happening in Lebanon.
It will be Blinken's 11th visit to the region since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 last year which started the series of hostilities in the Middle East region.
Israel carried out several strikes in Beirut's southern suburbs on Monday, including one near the Rafik Hariri University Hospital, the capital's main government hospital. Four people were killed, including a child, and 24 others were wounded, the health ministry said.
The UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini has accused Israel of stopping humanitarian assistance from reaching Gaza's northern region which has remained under siege since past two weeks.
"The Israeli authorities continue to deny humanitarian missions to reach the north with critical supplies including medicine and food for people under siege,” Philippe Lazzarini said, as reported by Al Jazeera.
Adding that those who have been injured in Israeli offensive weren't getting treated as the hospitals had no power, Lazzarini said, "Denying & weaponizing humanitarian assistance to achieve military purposes is a sign of how low the moral compass is…A ceasefire is the beginning to putting an end to this endless nightmare."
Israel's requirements for the indemnification needed to allow Israeli banks to continue conducting transactions with Palestinian banks have been met by the Palestinian authorities, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Technical experts argue that should warrant an extension of a current indemnification - set to lapse on Oct. 31 - for at least a year to avert an economic crisis in the West Bank, the source said.
U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo, who last month warned Israel that allowing the banking relationships to lapse would put its own security at risk, spoke on Monday with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, according to the source. They discussed security and economic issues, as well as the authority's efforts to improve its anti-money-laundering and countering-the-financing-of-terrorism regime.

The Israeli military has warned that it plans to carry out attacks in Lebanon on Hezbollah-run financial institution which it targeted a night before, and Israel claims that Hezbollah uses customers' deposits to finance attacks against Israel.
At least 15 branches of Al-Qard Al-Hassan were hit late Sunday in the southern neighborhoods of Beirut, across southern Lebanon and in the eastern Bekaa Valley, where Hezbollah has a strong presence, reported Associated Press.
The Israeli military aims to push out Hezbollah militant group out of southern Lebanon in order for the Israelis to return to their homes nearby in the northern Israel.
The heads of the United Nations World Food Programme and U.N. children's agency UNICEF have privately appealed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for help "alleviating the suffering of countless civilians" in the Gaza Strip, West Bank and Lebanon, according to a letter seen by Reuters on Monday.
"Effective and meaningful humanitarian action is possible with your political will and commitment," wrote UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell and WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain in the previously unreported letter dated Oct. 11.
Netanyahu's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the letter. The amount of aid entering Gaza has plummeted to its lowest level all year, according to U.N. data. In addition, a global hunger monitor has warned of a looming famine, and the U.N. has accused Israel of denying and impeding dozens of attempts this month to deliver aid, particularly to Gaza's north.
Israel began a wide military offensive in northern Gaza earlier this month. The United States said last week it was watching to ensure that its ally's actions on the ground show it does not have a "policy of starvation" in the north. Israel has said there is not a lack of aid in Gaza and accused Hamas of hijacking the humanitarian assistance. Hamas has repeatedly denied Israeli allegations that it was stealing aid and says Israel is to blame for shortages.

At least three people have been killed and tens of others have been wounded in the Israeli strike on a Beirut neighborhood near the capital's main government hospital, a senior security personnel told Reuters on Monday.
After Israel announced that Lebanon based Hezbollah militant group uses a hospital in Beirut's southern suburbs to stash cash underneath the structure, efforts started to evacuate the hospital fearing a possible Israeli strike.
But now the Israeli military has said that it will not strike the Lebanese Sahel Hospital in Beirut's southern suburbs, despite claims that the hospital is allegedly one of the places where Hezbollah's stashes its cash.
"The Israeli Air Force is monitoring the compound, as you can see. However, we will not strike the hospital itself," Israel's chief military spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, said, as reported by Reuters.
The Israeli military, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson has said that its strike in Syria has killed the head of Hezbollah militant group's money transfer unit. Hezbollah group is backed by Iran and is based in Lebanon.
The White House called upon all the parties involved in the aid distribution in Gaza to cooperate in the distribution of humanitarian aid in the country.
The White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said that the amount of aid being sent to Gaza must be increased significantly, although the White House has seen an uptick in the aid.
Israel's airport authority said that the normal flight operations have resumed at the Ben Gurion airport after briefly closing the airspace.
The airport authority, in a statement said, “The airport is open for landings and departures.” Israeli media reported that a "suspected object" was spotted near the facility that led to the closure of the airport for about 30 minutes, news agency AFP reported.
The United States has launched a review of a unit of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) which could have an implication on the US assistance of arms and ammunitions to Tel Aviv, an Axios report has suggested.
The review focuses on the IDF's 'Force 100,' which is in charge of guarding detainees from Gaza, and no findings have been reached yet, Axios reported, citing a US official.
For allegedly sexually assaulting a Palestinian detainee, several members of the IDF unit are currently on trial.

Israel's security services busted a spy ring which was allegedly gathering information on behald of the Iranian intelligence services, the Shin Bet and police said Monday, as per news agency Reuters. A joint statement by the Shin Bet and police stated that seven Israelis from the country's north, including the port city of Haifa, were arrested after an investigation revealed that they were involved in gathering intelligence on Israeli military bases and energy and port infrastructure.
U.S. special envoy Amos Hochstein on Monday said that Lebanon and Israel just committing to UN resolution 1701 was not enough, while stating that the United States was working to devise a formula to end the conflict, Reuters reported. The UN resolution 1701 had ended the last round of conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006. The resolution calls for southern Lebanon to be free of any troops or weapons other than those of the Lebanese state.

Iran has written to the UN nuclear watchdog complaining about Israel's threats against its nuclear sites, foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday, news agency Reuters reported.
Israel has vowed to attack Iran in retaliation for a volley of Iranian missiles launched on October 1, leading to widespread speculation that Iran's nuclear sites could be among Israel's targets.
"Threats to attack nuclear sites are against U.N. resolutions.... and are condemned... we have sent a letter about it to... the U.N. nuclear watchdog," Baghaei said at a press conference, according to the report.
Separately, Baghaei said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi would travel to Bahrain and Kuwait on Monday as part of Iran's efforts to curb regional tensions. (Reuters)
The US military has rushed its advanced anti-missile system to Israel and it is now "in place", Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said, news agency Reuters reported.
THAAD, or the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system, is a critical part of the US military's layered air defense systems and adds to Israel's already formidable anti-missile defenses.
"The THAAD system is in place," Austin said, speaking to reporters before his arrival in Ukraine on Monday.
He declined to say whether it was operational, but added: "We have the ability to put it into operation very quickly and we're on pace with our expectations." (Reuters)

Hundreds of Beirut residents fled their homes late on Sunday with multiple explosions heard across the Lebanese capital, as Israel prepared to attack sites linked to the financial operations of the group, asking people to leave those areas immediately.
Over the past two days, the Israeli military has attacked Hezbollah’s arms facilities in southern Beirut, its intelligence headquarters, and an underground workshop for the production of weapons.
Israel has given the White House a document with its conditions for a diplomatic solution to end the war in Lebanon, news agency Reuters reported.
The conditions, put forward last week, included the IDF forces be allowed to engage in “active enforcement” to make sure Hezbollah doesn’t rearm and rebuild its military infrastructure close to the border, besides demanding its air force have freedom of operation in Lebanese air space, the report said.
In response to these demands, a US official told Axios it was highly unlikely that Lebanon and the international community would agree to Israel’s conditions.
