Iran-Israel war update: Dubai International Airport suspends all flights; Heathrow Airport, Abu Dhabi Airports issue passenger advisory
Iran and Israel have reportedly shut their airspace after a missile attack by Israel and the US, prompting airlines, such as Air India, IndiGo to issue advisories to passengers.

A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued conveying the same, as per flightradar. The attack by joint forces of was nicknamed “Operation Lion’s roar”. Apart from Tehran, blasts were also heard in the cities of Qom, Karaj, Kermanshah, and Isfahan.

Airlines in India are also issuing advisories to customers, asking them to remain prepared for changes to any schedule related to flights to and from Iran.

India’s largest domestic carrier IndiGo said: We are closely monitoring regional updates concerning Iran and its airspace. The safety and security of our customers and crew remain our highest priority. Our teams stand prepared to implement any necessary adjustments as the situation evolves. Customers are advised to check their flight status prior to departure. In the event of any impact, updates will be communicated promptly via registered contact details.” IndiGo further said it will continue to keep flyers informed of any changes.

Meanwhile, Air India has also suspended its flight operations to the Middle East. Sharing a post on X, it said: “In view of the developing situation in parts of the Middle East, all Air India flights to all destinations in the Middle East have been suspended. We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety for our passengers and crew. We will continue to assess the safety and security environment for our flight operations and adjust operations proactively as required. Our teams will be extending all necessary support to passengers.”

In a statement, SpiceJet said: “Due to airspace closure in Dubai (DXB), some of our flights may be affected. - Heathrow Airport issues passenger advisory
In a statement, Heathrow Airport said: “Due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East and resulting airspace closures in the region, a small number of flights at Heathrow have been cancelled or delayed. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest information on their flight.”

In a statement, Boston Logan International Airport said: “Due to the situation in the Middle East, flights to the area including Dubai, Doha and Tel Aviv may be affected. Please check with your airline before coming to the airport.”

- ITA Airways Travel Advisory
ITA Airways has suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv and would not use the airspace of Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Iran until March 7. Flights to and from Dubai were suspended until March 1, reports Reuters.
Etihad Airways Travel Advisory
In a statement, Etihad Airways said: “All departures from Abu Dhabi are suspended until 14:00 (UAE time) Sunday 1 March. Arrivals before 14:00 (UAE time) Sunday 1 March are cancelled. Services after expected to operate, subject to conditions.”

Oman Air has also suspended its flight operations to and from Baghdad. “In light of recent developments in the region, our flights to and from Baghdad have been temporarily suspended. The rest of our network is operating as scheduled and, where re-routing is necessary, will utilise flight paths well distanced from conflict areas. - Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways has also suspended flight operations to and from Doha following the closure of Qatari airspace. “The airline is working closely with government stakeholders and the relevant authorities to support impacted passengers and will resume operations when the airspace re-opens.
Once usual operations resume, we anticipate delays to our flight schedule. We have also deployed additional ground staff at Hamad International Airport and other key airports to assist affected passengers,” it said.

- Flight operations suspended at Dubai International Airport
In a statement, Dubai Media Office said: “Dubai Airports confirms that all flight operations at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) are suspended until further notice.
Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport at this time and to contact their respective airlines directly for the latest updates regarding their flights.

According to Reuters, Virgin Atlantic said it will temporarily avoid Iraqi airspace, resulting in some pre-planned rerouting of its flights and has cancelled its VS400 service from London Heathrow to Dubai on Saturday.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Saturday suspended its flight operations to Gulf countries: United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait, reports PTI.
- Turkish Airlines cancels some Middle East flights
According to Reuters, Turkish Airlines cancelled flights to several Middle Eastern destinations including Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
- London’s Gatwick Airport issues travel advisory
London’s Gatwick Airport has said that some flights to and from the airport may experience delays or cancellations due to airspace restrictions in the Middle East, reports Reuters.
British Airways cancels flights amid Middle East tensions
As per Reuters, British Airways has cancelled flights to Tel Aviv and Bahrain until March 3 due to the situation in the Middle East, following strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran. “We are closely monitoring the situation and have taken the operational decision to cancel our flights to Tel Aviv and Bahrain up to and including 03 March and have cancelled today’s service to Amman,” the airline said in a statement.
