Flights grounded at New York’s JFK Airport due to ‘aircraft emergency’ declared by FAA

The FAA added that Delta Flight 183, which was coming to New York City from Rome, landed safely at about 1:30pm after the crew reported the issue with no injuries reported.

The New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) had declared a temporary ground stop on Friday, due to a disabled aircraft on the runway which experienced an issue with its hydraulics while it was inbound at the JFK airport.

The United States aviation watchdog Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had put an advisory early on Friday that it was halting departures at the JFK airport for a brief period of time due to “aircraft emergency”.

The FAA added that Delta Flight 183, which was coming to New York City from Rome, landed safely at about 1:30pm after the crew reported the issue with no injuries reported to anyone and passengers left the plane safely, CBS News reported.
