Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, flanked by Rep. Angie Craig, D-Minn, speaks during a news conference on legislation to reverse SNAP cuts on Capitol Hill in Washington. (AP Photo) US Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Monday said that three of his offices in New York were targeted with emailed bomb threats with the subject line “MAGA” and the message alleged that “2020 election was rigged”. No one has been hurt and law enforcement agencies are addressing the matter, the New York Democrat said in a statement, NBC News reported.
Schumer said that his offices in Rochester, Binghamton, and Long Island received bomb threats via email. A report in the Associated Press stated that Suffolk County police responded to Schumer’s Long Island office but couldn’t confirm the details of the threat, a law enforcement source stated. Schumer said that these kinds of “violent threats” have “absolutely no place in our political system.”
In a statement, Schumer said, “Local and federal law enforcement responded immediately and are conducting full security sweeps.” He added: “Everyone is safe, and I am grateful for their quick and professional response to ensure these offices remain safe and secure for all New Yorkers.”

Republican President Donald Trump lost the 2020 US presidential election to former Democratic President Joe Biden but the Republican leader has falsely claimed at several instances that the 2020 polls were “rigged” or “stolen”. However, US courts have dismissed or ruled against this campaign of forgery in election in dozens of lawsuits and that the votes were certified by election officials in all the 50 states of the US.
After issuing the statement, Schumer read it on the Senate floor and then moved on to other issues, including US strikes on alleged drug carrying boats in the Caribbean, NBC News reported.
