The bomb was hurled from the flyover, killing a youth, identified as Salim Majumder, who used to work as a mechanic at a motor parts shop in the area.

Masud Alam, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Ramna Division, told the media that the motive remains unclear.
CCTV footage is being reviewed to identify those involved, and further details will be released after the investigation.
Siam’s body was taken to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy, police said.
The victim’s father, Ali Akbar Majumder, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, told The Daily Star that his son was having tea at a nearby stall.
“Why do bombs fall on the heads of ordinary people like us? I want an answer from the government. Why did my son have to die?” he asked.
