#IWonBothOfThem trends on Twitter after Barack Obama’s classic retort to Republicans

His comment drew immediate applause from the Congress law-makers during the SOTU address.

US President Barack Obama is known for often making light off-the-script comments during public addresses. His highly-anticipated State of the Union address to the US Congress on Tuesday night was no different.

In the middle of his speech while reflecting on the last six years of his term, Obama said, “I have no more campaigns to run.”

The remark immediately drew a seemingly derisive laughter from the Republican side of the aisle. Obama could have ignored it and move on. But albeit in his own style, he smirked a little and quipped, “I know, because I won both of them.” He then topped the comment with a sly wink.

The remark drew tremendous applause from the Democratic lawmakers with some of them even seen standing up to cheer the President.

Obama then continued with his speech and said, “”My only agenda for the next two years is the same as the one I’ve had since the day I swore an oath on the steps of this Capitol: to do what I believe is best for America.”

The President’s classic retort invoked several users on Twitter to post their own versions with the hashtag #IWonBothOfThem trending for a while in the United States.
