Delhi temperature crosses 45°C, IMD issues orange alert: List of hottest stations on June 10

Warning people to stay cautious and take steps to protect themselves from the ongoing heatwave, they forecast temperatures likely to rise even for the next three days.

“Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over Northwest India during the next 4-5 days,” the IMD said in a statement.
According to IMD requirements, a heatwave in the plains is defined as a maximum temperature of 45°C or more, or when a maximum temperature of at least 40°C and 4.5°C above average, and must be maintained for at least two days at two stations within a meteorological subdivision.
On Tuesday, June 10, Delhi experienced notably high temperatures across all its key weather stations, with maximum temperatures exceeding normal levels by significant margins.

Ayanagar recorded the highest maximum temperature at 45.3°C, which is 3.2°C above normal, and Ridge followed closely at 44.9°C, registering the largest departure from normal at 3.8°C.
Palam, Safdarjung, and Lodhi Road also reported elevated temperatures of 44.3°C, 43.4°C, and 43.3°C, respectively, all exceeding their normal values by over 3°C.
